    Around the world, mushrooms have been stand-ins for meat for a long time, and they can make exciting center of the plate items.

    Depending on the mushrooms you have, you can do different things.

    Mushrooms steaks are well known, especially with hen of the woods and clusters of oyster mushrooms. I have recipes for each of them on this site to help you on your way.

    Mushroom pastas are another easy way to have them as the main part of a meal,  and is a good way to use smaller mushrooms that can't be cooked in a large piece like hen of the woods or maitake mushrooms, or chicken of the woods.
