    Blueberry and Huckleberry Recipes

Huckleberries and blueberries are related plants in the Vaccinium genus. There's many varieties of huckleberry and blueberry in North America: there's the widely cultivated high bush blueberries (Vaccinium ovalifolium), low bush blueberries (Vaccinium augustifolium) , evergreen huckleberries (Vaccinium ovatum) and some that might get called both blueberry or huckleberry (Vaccinium myrtillioides). Some are also be known as bilberries.

The exact variety isn't as important as knowing that all blueberries and huckleberries can be substituted for each other in recipes. Garden huckleberries are from a different genus (Solanaceae) but can also be substituted in any huckleberry or blueberry recipe. Here's a few of my favorites everyone should know.
