Quick Tips:

- All varieties of mulberry are edible, but they must be ripe. Unripe mulberries are said to be mildy toxic or hallucinogenic.
- The flavor of the fruit varies from tree to tree. Taste different ones to find your favorite mulberry. Invasive white colored mulberries are usually the most uninteresting fruit.
- There's no need to remove the stems from the fruit as they soften while cooking.
- Substitute mulberries for any recipe that calls for blueberries, like mulberry muffins.
- An easy way to use the fruit is to simply put a handful on ice cream.
